The Coyote Point windsurf access is in dangerous disrepair. Completion of the County funded beachfront and promenade restoration is a few years away. The interim solution of temporary sandbag ramps has been approved by the County and the necessary permits have been obtained. We need to fund the final $10,000 of the $35,000 project. There is a limited window of opportunity for installation of these ramps due to restrictions by the Regional Water Quality Control Board. Your help is urgently needed to maintain safe windsurfing access at Coyote Point! windsurfer image

April 15th...latest news from the San Mateo County Parks Department...work on the temporary sandbag ramps is tentatively scheduled to begin tomorrow, April 16th and last 2 weeks. Sale of raffle tickets has boosted the fund raising enough to get the project underway. There's still time to buy a ticket and get a chance to win a JP board, a sail or any number of other prizes. All this and a new ramp to the water! Thanks to all who donated!

To sweeten the deal the SFBA is holding a raffle for a really cool JP Slalom III board generously donated by Adventure Sports Inc., the North American distributor for JP Australia, Neil Pryde Waterwear, NPX Waterwear and Cabrinha Kiteboarding.

...in any amount, to raise the needed $10,000 for temporary sand bag ramps at Coyote Point. These 2 access ramps will only be installed if we can raise the necessary funds.

While these "temporary" ramps are to be made out of sand bags, they have been carefully engineered to be stable (view design) and are expected to serve as the access way during the 2-3 years that it will take for San Mateo County Parks to complete the design, approval, and installation of an improved and stable shoreline.
