Ok, it's been kind of a long day...my guess is "or what." Do I get a prize for the right answer?
JILLIAN!...Howdy, stranger! What has it been...23 years? ;-) Congratulations on your marriage to Bill! :-) Me? Married 11 years now, a six-year-old daughter, a marketing director for a high-end pro audio manufacturer, and a brand-new house down here in the high desert of L.A. County...and STILL doing The Party! (Now in its 24th season, but left Big Basin years ago. Now up in Mendocino National Forest during August's Perseid meteor shower.) Would love to hear from you and catch up! Thinking of you with kind thoughts and great memories...Best, Charlie

Hi there,
I am Roger and i will be visiting San Francisco from 7 - 16 sept. In the Netherlands i also practice kitesurfing on sea. I was wondering if i could borrow or rent somebody's kite(naish) during my holliday.
And if you ar interested i make a sort of downhillboards to use on the beach with your kite.
I will be bringing one kiteskate with me, so maybe we can exchange our gear so we both have a good time.
Greetings from the Netherlands and rip it up.

Hi! Is kiting as dangerous as i hear? We have read of decapitations, castrations, contusions, brusions, broken bones, psoriasis, and worse. I am intending to write my congressman on this plague upon society. Gary will know what to do!

Yes Florence, kiting is indeed the dangerous and evil plague you suggest! The stories of decapitation and castration are unfortunately true. Actually, it's just one story...apparently the guy lost his "little" head...but it's shocking none the less. With that in mind, I think it's best to not go balls out in this sport just yet or maybe wear a cup. I've taken the liberty of forwarding your concerns to Congressman Gary. He's a bit busy right now (he's been filling in the backyard pool so he can plant tomatoes) but assures me he wants to "do you right."
Yes, I like to know more about earthlings and funny habit like kitesurfing on water. What up with kite? How come no female of species do act. My english bad. sari. Can you help? I will becoMING soon. do notfeer

Kermit...kitesurfing on water is not a funny habit. It is dangerous and evil (see above.) According to Congressman Gary, females do "do act" (see above.) There is no help for you. Sari.
When will you have more videos? I liked the windsurf kitesurf combos. Keep it up.

hmmmm...o.k., I'll bite...
Hello:)
My name is Lorie.... T....., and I have a friend from Australia who'll be coming to visit. He's and avid kitesurfer, and has asked me to help him find out as much information as possible about kitesurfing in SFBay.
As I'm sure you have lots of experience in kiting in the bay, would it be possible for you to send me information re: winds and the best places to kitesurf in San Francisco and any nearby areas? He's instructing the sport in Bali, Indonesia right now and is looking forward to finding places in our neck of the woods where the winds will be generous (apparently the Balinese winds have been stingy and have left him beached). If you can also send any information regarding the competition circuit in California, that would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much. Your site's pretty wicked (you've got great photos:), and I hope to hear from you soon.

Lorie, the following is a list of locations to check out;
Crissy Field: located in S.F., in the Presidio. Great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the City. Gusty, flukey winds for the first 200-300 yards, then great. Need to be careful of the current. Ebb and flood can move at 6 knts. Also alot of boat traffic on weekends.
Coyote Point: about 36 min south of S.F., in San Mateo. Not much room to launch and not advised for anyone not an advanced kitesurfer. Best at lower tides. Wind can be tricky for launching and serious jetwash can be a problem (the sailing is under the landing traffic at SFO.)
3rd Ave: about 10 min. south of Coyote Point in Foster City. Small beach to launch from and muddy at low very low tides, also sand bars at extreme low tides. Wind very consistent. Lots of room to kite with no obstructions. One mile to channel marker. Miles of upwind space and one mile downwind space. Flatter water inside and swell outside on ebb tides.
Waddel Creek: about 1 1/2 hours west and south from 3rd ave on the coast just north of Santa Cruz. Good swell and wind with plenty of beach to launch.
Rio Vista: inland from 3rd ave about 1 1/2 hrs. Best place is the Sherman Island levee park. Very small launch and tides can be a factor in light or underpowered conditions. This is river fresh water with some salt water mixed in. Best in the morning and late afternon. Can blow all day and all night.
Alameda (Crown Beach): about 40 min inland from S.F. or 3rd ave. Large beach launch with very light wind. Best spot for learning or very big kites. No obstuctions other than a lot of beginners and miles of water.
All location are premier windsurfing locations and are best from May thru Sept.
For competition info check out Windsurfing Magazine and KiteBoarding Magazine.

Brian, The @home ISP has scheduled and rescheduled the server update. The latest info I've received is the notice below. If they ever get the job done we'll have more video clips available and everything should download faster. Stay tuned.
Notice from ATT @Home
"The WebSpace scheduled outage/update has been changed. The new move date is from Monday, March 19, 2001, at 9 p.m. PST through Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at 8 a.m. PST."
Team Coyote,
I like to read about the conditions on the west coast. Can you expect me to believe that you can windsurf and kitesail at the same place at the same time? I'm not stupid.

Greg, I'm sure your mom thinks you're the brightest bulb in the chandelier
so rest assured, Team Coyote would never question your intelligence! I personally can't walk and chew gum at the same time, but with a little help from a friend, we can together manage the task. BTW, where is ",WVa"???
Hey there,
I like what you're doing but it takes so long to load the pages. Is it my end or yours?

Sacramento, CA - Saturday, March, 10, 2001 at 20:11:42 (PDT)
Hey Brian
thanks for the compliment. The page loading/time-delay thang has to do with the @home servers. They're supposed to be upgrading the system on March 12 thru 13th. They've promised that this will be "the fix" and sites hosted by @home will be fast and accurate. Wanna bet on it? In the end
it's my end, not yours!
I like the new look. When will you have more videos?

Sacramento, CA - Thursday, January 25, 2001 at 20:58:56 (PDT
Thanks Jeremy... hope to have more videos and pics soon. The host server is scheduled for an upgrade at the end of February. It's currently running xtremely slowly at peak times so the download times for video is too long. That aside, it is still January after all...a bit too cold for me to get my butt out and take photos of other people freezing their's off. Stay tuned. There's more to come.
wow
What an EGO booster
